About Corona Strings

A small shop, an honest plan, a long view.

Corona Strings is a Filipino strings shop and music studio based in Marikina — and a small family business. We curate instruments and accessories for everyday players, partner with vetted teachers for lessons, and keep a set of free practice tools open to every musician — students, parents, orchestra players, and adult learners.

Corona Strings

Corona Strings is a Filipino family business, started by a working violinist, with a simple intention: make it easier for Filipino musicians to find good instruments, good teachers, and good tools to practise with.

We’re a family of musicians — between us we play, teach, and perform, so the instruments we pick and the teachers we recommend are the ones we’d choose for ourselves.

We don’t build instruments ourselves — there are generations-old workshops who do that better than we ever could in our lifetime. What we can do is play, pick what plays well, teach, and share. That’s what Corona Strings is for.

What we do

  • Shop — a small, curated catalogue of strings, rosin, shoulder rests, cases, and beginner- to-intermediate instruments. Everything in it is something a working Filipino violinist would actually recommend.
  • Lessons — hand-vetted teachers matched to your level, your goals, and your schedule. Online to start, in-person when our Marikina space opens.
  • Free practice tools — tuner, metronome, sight reading, ear training, Practice Rooms, and My Library. Forever free; that’s the foundation.

The plan

Corona Strings is being built in phases. We’re open about which phase we’re in because honesty matters more than the appearance of being further along than we are.

  • Phase 1 — today. Free practice tools, free Practice Rooms for sharing sheet music with your ensemble, and honest writing about the instrument. The shop and lessons aren’t open yet, and we won’t pretend they are.
  • Phase 2 — coming. The shop opens with curated accessories and beginner-to-intermediate instruments. Lessons launch with a small group of vetted teachers.
  • Phase 3 — the long view. A physical space in Marikina for in-person lessons, fittings, and small recitals.

What we believe

Every musician deserves an instrument that doesn’t get in their way and a teacher they trust.

That belief shapes every recommendation we make. There’s no “best” violin and no “best” teacher in the abstract — only the one that fits you, your stage, and your goals. Our job is to help you find it.

Who we serve

Orchestra players. Music school students. Adult learners. Parents buying a first instrument for their child. Anyone with an interest in the violin, viola, cello, or double bass — from curious beginners to seasoned professionals.
